The Anesthesia Team Crowned Champions of the Futsal Competition

In the grand finale of the sixth edition of the Al-Safwa University College Futsal Championship, which brought together the Departments of Pharmacy and Anesthesia Technology, the Anesthesia team claimed the championship title after securing a decisive victory over the Pharmacy team with a score of 3-1. The winning goals were netted by players Karrar Haider and Sajad Amjad, while the sole goal for the Pharmacy team was scored by Ahmed Latif. All three goals were recorded in the second half of the match, which was officiated by referees Mufada Abdul-Hussein and Murtaḍa Bashar.
The match commenced with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, in the presence of distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Ali Za’lan, the college’s Administrative Assistant Dean; Mr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Shalah, President of the Iraqi Football Federation – Karbala Branch; Prof. Dr. Habib Ali, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Kerbala; Saad Al-Yasiri, Head of the Olympic Committee Representation in Kerbala; and Ali Al-Musallamawi, President of the Karate Federation. The event also witnessed the participation of numerous academic staff members, faculty instructors, and a large audience of enthusiastic supporters from both teams.
Adding to the spectacle, the match featured an impressive karate performance, including kata and combat demonstrations, presented by a select group of champions from Iraq and the Karbala province.
At the conclusion of the competition, awards and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Congratulations to the champions, and commendations to the Student Activities Division for the successful organization of the tournament.
